Hello, I’m Yoana, I’ve been part of the Missing Maps project with CartONG since October 2023. My contribution to OSM is part of participatory and collaborative cartographies in favor of humanitarian, development and social action actors. Our team organizes numerous remote and face-to-face mapathons to raise awareness of cartography, OSM and its ecosystem, and the value of these tools in the humanitarian sector. With the help of our volunteers, we train new contributors and fine-tune the skills and expertise of old hands to maximize the quality of our actions.

I also have a law degree with specializations in international relations and humanitarian aid. I want to become a strategic/geopolitical analyst for the humanitarian sector. And OSM is, in my opinion, an essential tool for global cartography, which is an integral part of the geopolitical study of territories across the planet.
